About This Place

Nestled conveniently on Huntington Avenue near Northeastern University, Tatte Bakery & Cafe offers a vibrant fusion of cafe culture and Israeli-inspired flavors, making it a standout destination for breakfast, brunch, or a leisurely coffee break in Boston. This bustling yet welcoming spot artfully blends a bakery, coffee shop, and restaurant experience under one roof, inviting guests to indulge in both classic and inventive dishes that appeal to an adventurous palate.

The culinary heart of Tatte lies in its carefully curated menu, featuring signature items that marry rich, comforting textures with bright, fresh ingredients. Among the highlights, the Lamb Meatball & Labneh Shakshuka is a must-try for those seeking a hearty, savory dish. Imagine perfectly poached eggs nestled in a luscious tomato stew, accented by the creamy tang of labneh and tender lamb meatballs, accompanied by freshly baked challah that is both fluffy and delightfully golden. One guest described the shakshuka as “amazing,” praising the balance of sweet red peppers and ripe tomatoes that create a vibrant, soul-satisfying depth.

For pastry lovers, Tatte’s selection is nothing short of sublime. The Pistachio Raspberry Tart and Chocolate Rose offers layers of delicate texture and refined sweetness, while the buttery Almond and Pistachio Croissants showcase masterful baking techniques with flaky crusts and rich nutty fillings. Not to be missed are the fruit tarts—bursting with fresh, seasonal fruit atop crisp, buttery bases—that bring a refreshing finish to any meal.

Coffee aficionados will find themselves enchanted by Tatte’s artful beverages like the Tatte House Latte, a smooth, velvety drink that perfectly complements the bakery’s sweets, or the uniquely satisfying Black Sesame Latte, highlighted by a subtle crunch and creamy oat milk that one regular raves as “a wonderful combination.” For those seeking something cooler or lighter, the cold-pressed juices — from vibrant Kale & Apple to sweet Bosc Pear — alongside the Italian San Pellegrino sparkling drinks enhance the experience with refreshing zest and balance.

The lively atmosphere at Tatte mirrors its location—frequented by college students and locals alike, the cafe buzzes with an undercurrent of community and warmth. Outdoor seating adds a charming touch, allowing guests to soak in Boston’s energy while savoring expertly crafted cheesecakes, which have won devoted fans who claim they’ve “never found anything like them anywhere else.” Despite its popularity and sometimes crowded spaces, the service remains impeccable, with staff praised for their genuine hospitality and attentiveness, making every visit feel personal.

Whether you're drawn by the bakery’s enticing pastries, the warmth of a freshly brewed coffee, or the rich flavors of a Middle Eastern-inspired brunch, Tatte Bakery & Cafe delivers a multisensory journey that is both comforting and exciting. Its blend of high-quality ingredients, creative culinary offerings, and a welcoming vibe cements Tatte as one of Boston’s truly special venues to relax, recharge, and indulge.

We got lamb meatball shakshuka and greek pancakes. The shakshuka was amazing — 2 perfectly poached eggs, sweet red pepper, freshly baked challah, and lots and lots of tomatoes. The lamb meatballs were just ok and I think the other two vegetarian shakshukas may be even better tasting. My friend enjoyed the greek pancakes but I thought they tasted a little bit starchy. For drinks I had the ginger oat milk latte, which was intense on the ginger flavor (amazing!!!) but weirdly has ginger fibers in it (good to know it was made with real ginger but am I the only one who thinks filtering those out would create a much better smooth texture?)… Overall, huge portions, creative flavors, fresh ingredients, great price, friendly staff. Definitely recommend.

Always busy location, but a great place to stop. I found that on parents weekend it was full of parents and students because of the variety of top not true that they serve.

Despite being always crowded with college kids, we have our best memories shaped here… Try cheesecakes at every Tatte in Boston, you’ll never regret that. It was a taste of cheesecake I’ve never been able to find anywhere else. This branch has nice outdoor seating as well.

Tatte quickly becoming my favorite cafe, with their quality coffee & pastry, plus the excellent hospitality!! My go-to is always the black sesame latte opts for oat milk!! It is so creamy with a lil crunchy black sesame seed in the latte, such a wonderful combination. I requested extra hot and less sweet for my latte, which makes it even better! The service is just top-notch!! The crew are so nice and knowledgeable with recommendations. Will definitely stop by again soon! Highly recommended!

Tasty turkey sandwich and fruit tart. Located right on the university, so this area can get a bit of traffic but parking was surprisingly reasonable to find and the food was great! Will definitely come again
